Summer has come to a close and we are delighted to head into the cooler Fall days.

Even though the days are shorter, we have the natural light that brings joy to many.

Even delicate arrangements can provide a simple touch of beauty.

Or, a pretty pop of color to enliven a quiet space.

Chandelier beauty

If you have visited the building, it is apparent that Julia Morgan had a gift for elegant details.

Let’s explore the first floor a bit, shall we?

How pretty is this chandelier present in both the Drawing Room & Theater?

The curved lines and quatrefoil at the top are elegantly French.

This chandelier is also a stunning focal point and welcoming fixture in the Lobby.

Lucky for us (and you!), we have 4 of them to create a warm, inviting feel.

Where the light from the chandeliers doesn’t reach, we have natural light and elegant sconces.

We hope you enjoyed seeing some up close and beautiful images from our treasured building.

Spring in the East Courtyard

After a rainy winter, our Courtyards are seeing an extra dose of lush beauty.

Touches of Spring

We are not only feeling love in the air, but there is a spring in our step.

Spring may come early this year, so we are celebrating with fun details in pretty colors and a special offer ending soon.

We just love the pink accented here.

Elegant details

Even for those of us who enjoy the beauty of the Club daily, it is always nice to come across simple reminders of beauty around the venue.

Before you step inside, the elegant touches are ever-present in the flowers carved into the concrete.  Such beauty and talent!

On the first floor & second floors, this animal greets us with a grand stance.

Our architect, Julia Morgan, went to Cal, so word is that this is a bear, paying homage to her Alma Mater, UC Berkeley, just a short walk away.

In the Drawing Room, the elegant mastery continues with an animal and an beautiful flower.

Stunning ceremony locations

We all know our venue brings beauty, but to witness it in action is always fun too!

Today, we will explore some of our favorite spaces for ceremonies.

Hello, Members Lounge.  You are gorgeous with your rich colors and vintage feel.

Another favorite is the Terrace.

We love taking in the fresh Berkeley breezes and city views.

The lights that the couple had hung add ambiance and dimension to the space.

Rounding things out is the Drawing Room.

Even the kids pictured here think the space is pretty awesome.  With a fireplace, access to the West Courtyard and our stunning windows, it is pure love.

With spaces for weddings big or small, we love making wedding day dreams come true.

Truly thankful – Part one

As Thanksgiving approaches, it is reminder of things in life that we are grateful for.

For many, the Berkeley City Club is a home away from home and we truly relish in the beauty.

We come to work everyday where this is our reality…

And, it is always a treat to peer out of a window and see a stunning pop of color.

Chinese lantern tree in bloom

If you have graced our East Courtyard, chances are this tree greeted you.

Most likely, it was not full of these red hibiscus-like flowers.

Making its home at the Berkeley City Club for more than ten years, this tree rarely blooms.

The evergreen beauty loves its well-drained soil and the shade to part-sun in this Courtyard.

It is a real treat to have some color adorning this space.

Do you have a favorite tree or shrub in one of our Courtyards?
